Scrabster Harbour Trust (SHT) Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Pottinger to succeed William Calder as Chairman of the Port Authority. William Calder stepped down from the Trust Board at the end of his tenure on 31st October 2013.
William had served ten successful years as Board Chairman. During this period, the port has experienced significant growth in business and invested in new and improved facilities to position the harbour for the future.
Tom Pottinger joined the Trust Board in 2012. His career to date includes farming and renewable energy development, principally in on-shore wind. He is a director of Baillie Wind Farm Ltd and RDS Element Power Ltd. His previous appointments include Chairman of Caithness Livestock Breeders and director of Quality Meat Scotland.
On taking appointment, Mr Pottinger commented: “Along with my fellow Board members, I am looking forward to the challenges ahead in attracting new business to our excellent port at Scrabster, not forgetting the needs of the established industries such as fishing.”
